Licencing

How does Informix (7.23) count it's users? If we have a 5 user licence, say, and a set up with Online on one box with the main database and the users on another accessing it via the network in a client/server environment, what criteria does it use to enforce the licence? Is it the number of simultaneous transactions from identifiably different users? What happens if more than 5 users attempt to access the database a) simultaneously (concurrently)? b) sequentially (no more than 5 at any one time) ?
