Hi, please help us to understand und solve the following problem with shared
memory.
We are running a small application on a PC hat connects to the Informix-Online 7.13
server running on HP-UX 10.10 . This application basically runs a loop and issues
some
SQL-statements. The server logs about 25 lines like this
17:07:49 dynamically allocated new shared memory segment (size 8388608)
(what we feel is too much) and the applications runs to it's end. After this, we still
see the 25 lines running the "onstat -g seg" command. Even after the applications
has
terminated, the shared memory segements stay in use for about 30 minutes. During
this time, one oninit process to very busy, eating up almost the whole cpu time. No
database operation is possible. After this time, database operation continues and the
shared memeory segements have the status available, but are not freed and given
back to the operating system.
We tried to run "onmode -F" - and the database server crashes.
If you have any comments to one of my notes, please let me know.
Thank you,
Jens
