Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Dennis Melnikov noted AXIS2C was removed from 4GL since 7.51.xC2 and asked for a replacement. Thomas Palmer and Emily Taylor said HCL is developing an OpenAPI/Swagger-based replacement with an early access program. Dennis asked for an equivalent before removal. Paul Watson mentioned his GreenScreen tool for browser front ends. No replacement is available yet.

Hi all,
AXIS2C server is removed from 4GL distribution since 7.51.xC2. Please, what can we replace it with?

Hi Dennis:
We are working on a "replacement" for the old AXI2C Web Services which will be based on the OpenAPI/Swagger standards.

HCL is developing a new alternative capability replacement for the old AXI2C Web Services. It will be based on the OpenAPI/Swagger standard. We will conduct early access program validation and testing. If you would like to participate, please reach out to us

Thomas,
IMHO, before omitting AXIS2C, it would be highly appreciated to provide an alternative solution with equivalent functionality. Otherwise, existing integrations and applications may require significant rework without a clear migration path.

I have something called GreenScreen that drops 4ges into a Chrome browser, but use JS/CSS etc to modernize the front end.
The big advantage is zero changes to the 4ge, the big disadvantage is it makes zero change to the 4ge
