>Can please somebody guide me how to start it and suggest a book for a >beginner! Read The F...riendly Manual! Informix's award-winning product documentation is the best in the business. The Tutorial begins with "...a table is a collection of data comprised of columns and rows..." and the other manuals continue with system administration through performance tuning. They are available online with a support contract, downloadable in an Adobe Acrobat format. TFM is always the first place to go for information. Then scrutinize the web pages, starting with http://www.informix.com and ending with http://www.iiug.org . Be sure to follow the links to other useful user group and individual sites. Among the things you'll find are recommendations for books to read and links to the vendors who sell them. Remember also the basic net tools such as http://www.dejanews.com . Had you inquired there for "informix books" you would have found the preceding two paragraphs along with 51 other recommendations for books, training, and other sources of information. While I was at it, I used another search engine to find "informix faq": Infoseek found 1,412,629 pages containing at least one of these words: informix faq the first four of which are links to one or another of the Frequently Asked Questions lists. ___________________________________________________________ Clem Akins (aka clem@informix.com) Informix Software, Inc (Standard disclaimers apply) International Technical Support Last seen: Motorcycling through rain and snow in California
