All versions of the Informix database engine have always been Y2000 compliant. Informix DATE and DATETIME types store year and century. Until Version 7.2 and 5.10 Informix front end tools and the engine's automated conversions always converted 2-digit years to current century. Newer versions use the Environment variable DBCENTURY to determine how to interpret 2digit years in strings presented for conversion. Options include round century up, round down, round to nearest century, etc. Art S. Kagel
