Has anyone faced this problem before? What could be wrong? In addition to Mark's thought on termcap... I wonder if Informix 4GL now redisplays the field as the INPUT statement enters it? That would clobber any DISPLAYs to the field that changed the attributes. A way to test this would be to use a terminal emulator and set it to copy to file as you enter a field. Inspect the resulting spew of characters to determine what Informix is doing. I have resorted to this technique when trying to optimize the termcap entries. I was surprised at the amount of apparently redundant screen redrawing that goes on. -- Peter Lancashire Information Systems Specialist, Bayer plc Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 7AH, UK Tel: +44-1635-562258, Fax: +44-1635-562281 --- If all else fails, read the instructions AND the release notes.
