Re: How do I find a bug description on the web
Posted in 1997
Hi, Just a small comment. More often than not, the initial description of a case or of a bug is rather superficial. Often we discover that the root cause of the problem is quite different than the problem that the user first described. Also, once the root cause of the problem is found, we discover that other problems that were actually caused by the same bug. So -- a given user's problem may sound different than the bug description itself. Also -- there may be a similar sounding problem to something that the user has encountered, but the root cause can be somthing quite different. > >Hi, > >One way to get bug info is through the Informix Tech info center >The URL is http://www.informix.com/techinfo > >You need an account (you can get one by registering in the Informix >Developers Network) URL: http://www.informix.com/idn >Membership is free for one year since this is a new area on the web >site. > >Once you get into the Tech Info center select Product Info and then >the Product Defects list. > >Hope this helps, >Bill > >Once yu register follow the links for Answers Online > > > > > > I have been given a bug number from Informix and I would like to look up > the description.
