Good Afternoon,

I am playing with compression and have some questions based on the following
scenario. I have a fragmented table and have already compressed all of the
data fragments > 2000 rows. Some dbspaces contain multiple fragments.
1. When I select * from syscompdicts, I see rows for each fragment that I have
compressed however for the rows that represent fragments in the same dbspaces,
the dict_partnum is the same. onstat -g ppd shows the correct partnums. Why?
2. I am looking for a way to automate compressing my large tables with older
fragments and need a way to tell me if a fragment has been compressed and if
that compression is complete. My problem is that the partnums are not correct
in syscompdicts and I cannot tell from that table if the compression was
complete and successful. Can someone clue me in on what to base these
decisions on?
thanx,
Dan
