user not trusted

Hi all, We have just changed the ip address on our test machine and know Informix gives user or host not trusted. I have reviewed the host.equiv and .rhosts files and they are correct. We are running online 7.2 on SCO 5.0. I am trying to use a nettype of ontlitcp. If I change this to onipcshm I am able to connect. Any ideas will be appreciated.
