But never both at once. Although it's possible - if you want 2 or 3 mirrors. I wouldn't dream of doing Online AND Unix mirroring to the same mirror - that's asking for trouble. One of the nice things about Online mirroring vs Unix mirroring is the ability to swap disks OF DIFFERENT TYPES out. We did a conversion not too long ago from older (400MB) to newer (1.3GB) disks. We needed to stay online as long as possible. So we imaged the new disks and then switched - with Online we could do this, but not with Unix since the disks were different types. The new disks are still partitioned like the older ones were (even though they are 3 times larger), but we did the conversion of 2 GB of data with under 2 min. of downtime. (Hint - we used different tbconfig files - presenting two aspects of the same engine - booted one for the imaging (where the new disks were the mirror) downed the engine and brought it back up with the new tbconfig which made the new disks the primary disks. Could also have done it just by changing the symbolic links to the devices - but hey). j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| Your .sig has expired, please enter jparker@hpbs2561.boi.hp.com | a new one.
