Informix 7.X w/ VxVM & VxFS

We are running Veritas Volume Manager & File System together with Informix 7.x database on a E250. Right now, we do not have the DBspace mirrored from Informix, and the mirroring is being handled by Veritas. We are just wondering if one of the chunks goes down, will the Veritas mirroring scheme takes over and prevent Informix from going offline? Or should I reconfigure the Veritas Volume Manager so that the mirroring is being handled by Informix instead? Suggestions and comments are welcome. If one of the chunks goes down, either both disks failed or Informix marked it down because of errors in a restore et al. (I have always preferred letting Veritas mirror over Informix, so I wouldn't change a thing) jleung (jleung@skat.usc.edu) wrote: : We are running Veritas Volume Manager & File System together with Informix : 7.x database on a E250. Veritas mirroring is quicker than Informix's. It really depends how who wants the repsonsibility if there is a mirroring problem, the SA or the DBA.
