11.5FC3 on solaris and PAM

We are working with PAM on 11.5FC3 on Solaris 10. I have found some issues which we have worked around but want to get some other thoughts on this one. We are using this against Active Directory and we have login more than 8 characters and all was working until we started removing permissions from public and setting up default roles. What I have found I need to set the default role on the first 8 characters of the login for all to work correctly. It would be nice to support the whole login what are others thoughts on this??
