unsetting clocal

We are using Informix Online version 4.0 on a TI 1507 and have a problem with users who dial in and don't hangup properly. Informix sets clocal so the modem signal will not drop on hagup unless you exit the application. I was wondering if there is any way in a 4GL application to unset this parameter. I have tried to set this in my logon sequence, but it keeps changing when I enter the application, but it keeps setting it when a sqlturbo starts up. Is there any way I can correct this?
