c4gl linking error on libnforms.a

Machine: DEC 3000 Model 300 AXP Operating System: OSF1 V2.1 250 alpha Informix Software: INFORMIX-SQL Version 4.11.UC1 INFORMIX-4GL Version 4.11.UC2 INFORMIX-4GL Development System Version 4.11.UC2 INFORMIX-OnLine Version 5.02.UC6 INFORMIX-STAR Version 5.02.UC6 I am trying to compile 4GL code. The code compiles and runs fine when using RDS to generate p-code. However, the same code produces an error when compiled with 'c4gl'. Once the .c file is created from the .4gl, 'c4gl' runs 'cc' which in turn compiles the .c code and attempts to link in the Informix libraries and fails in the linking process. For example: csh> c4gl test.gl ld: Object file format error in: /users/informix/lib/libnforms.a(nefrhelp.o): bad relocation entry (r_symndx [index]) I have the following questions: (1) Has anyone else that uses 4GL on the DEC Alpha had a similar problem and if so have you been able to work around it? (2) What exactly is a bad relocation entry and is there anything that can be done to the library to correct it?
