Hello We're running IDS 7.30 TC5 for Windows NT 4.0, and we're having problems with the IECC program. When I connect to my database instance, I can see all the icons related to it: spaces, events, etc. But when I try to open the databases icon, I receive the following message: "Unable to locate the locale or conversion file 'en_us.1252'. Check the file system to ensure that this file resides in the appropriate gls subdirectory" Then the icon becomes inactive, and I can't see the databases under the instance. Could somebody help me with this ??? Thanks in advance. -- Paulo Roberto Marelli de Amorim TS&0 Consulting Brasil Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
Hello Paulo, it seems You didn' t install the accurate GLS-files for en_us.1252. If You got the INFORMIX LANGUAGE PACK, i think it called, You can simply install the files You need. Otherwise, copy from a well running instance, all files from INFORMIXDIR\\gls and INFORMIXDIR\\msg conatining en_us or e404 in their file- or directory-name. The worst solution is to make a proper reinstall. Hi Paulo, I faced the same trouble before and it seems that when I increased the number of locks and buffers in the onconfig file and restarted the engine every thing went back to normal. so why don't you try just that and feed me back. needless to say that the informix server on the NT platform has a hedious installation wizard that really needs to be reviewed by informix,it gave me a hard time installing the server :((( In article <7k9255$vc6$1@nnrp1.deja.com>, Paulo Amorim <pauloamorim@uol.com.br> wrote: > Hello > > We're running IDS 7.30 TC5 for Windows NT 4.0, and we're having > problems with the IECC program. > > When I connect to my database instance, I can see all the icons related > to it: spaces, events, etc. But when I try to open the databases icon, > I receive the following message: > > "Unable to locate the locale or conversion file 'en_us.1252'.
