Replicating between Informix 11.50FC7/11.70FC2 and

Is there a preferred way to replicate to/from Informix (11.50FC7 or 11.70FC7 - Linux) and SQL Server 2005/2008? I found information about setting up Informix as a Linked Server in SQL Server. Is there any other alternatives. Thanks, Jeff Jeffrey J. An MS SQL Server linked server will let SQL Server apps query Informix databases as if they were local to SQL Server. You can do actual replication yourself by writting to the Informix Change Data Capture API (CDC) and/or the SQL Server CDC API if you want to go bidirectional. There are also third party products that you can use. One, dbMoto from Hit software (http://www.hitsw.com/products_services/dbmoto/dbmoto.html) had been using triggers installed in Informix, but the new release which just came out is now using the CDC API for newer servers (IDS 11.50+) that have it. I believe they still support trigger based replication for earlier IDS versions. Art Art S. Or just use the CDC product and avoid writing code to do the same thing. :) Dick Snoke IBM ChannelWorks dsnoke@us.ibm.com (404) 487-1595 From: "Art Kagel" <art.kagel@gmail.com> To: ids@iiug.org Date: 06/15/11 12:40 PM Subject: Re: Replicating between Informix 11.50FC7/11.7....
