In particular - do NOT kill an SQLTURBO process. > > I needed to kill off a telnet login today for the first time, so <open > book> tbstat -u to get the pid then tbmode -z pid to kill it. Not. > Tbmode DOES work - almost all the time. But it's very polite. It gives the SQLTURBO time to cleanup before facing the firing squad. Tbmode doesn't so much *kill* the process as give it permission to die at its earliest convenience. Sometimes that could be many hours. If tbmode doesn't get the desired results, you might as well shutdown the engine on purpose. Killing an sqlturbo will do the same thing, but you don't want to have to clean up the mess. -- Dan Madvig e-mail: d-madvig@bethel.edu Bethel College & Seminary phone: (612) 638-6414 3900 Bethel Drive fax: (612) 638-6001 St. Paul, MN 55112 Is a Freudian slip when you say one thing, but you mean your mother?
