Re: ONCONFIG and AIX
Posted in 2006
Hi,
I would enable KAIO, too.
Apart from KAIO the B-Tree Scanner usually benefits from some
configuration:
>From my experience increasing threshold (default: 500) reduces I/O
significantly, enabling range scans (rangesize=500), too.
BTSCANNER num=1,prio=low,threshold=50000,rangesize=500,alice=5
For bigger systems the threshold is sometimes increased to about
200000.
You may monitor the B-Tree-Scanner using onstat -C ...
Fortunately you can change the settings online, e.g.
$ onmode -C threshold 50000
$ onmode -C rangesize 500
You found out RESIDENT is supported on AIX, now.
