The work around (for my case) is to use WORDWRAP COMPRESS, and then in the report use print longfield WORDWRAP RIGHT MARGIN xyz (When I posted my query, I had forgotten about the new wordwrap function, so I couldn't see any way to get the effect I wanted ...) -- Harry Bochner bochner@das.harvard.edu
