This comes under the for-what-its-worth category: I have a somewhat useful set of tools that may give you some additional reporting and querying choices, regarding data base information, at my homepage. They are FREE. At the very least they may enlighten you about how INFORMIX converts data type information stored in systables into human readable strings we use in programs. You may end up coming up with some better tools you'll want to share with the rest of us. For your immediate need, if you have c4gl or RDS, download the systabs.4ge program files, compile them, and take advantage of the reports. Look for inx_sys.shr. This one is begging to be done in Java, or maybe some other neat GUI. :-) -- \\\\|// (6 6) ==============================---o00--(_)--00o---============================ Tim Schaefer tschaefe@encore.com tschaefe@shadow.net Encore Computer Corp http://www.shadow.net/~tschaefe =============================================================================
