Multilingual Support

I am about to start a new project which will be using the informix database. Before this happens i need to research the issues involved in creating a multilingual application, one that can be used with any Middle/Far Eastern language without many different versions of the software. Does informix support Unicode in any way, if so, if anyone has any information regarding this, i would greatly appreciate some advice or issues that should be considered many Thanks Daniel Makin.
