We have just found the brkcnsct.exe utility in the New Era v2 bin directory. This seems incredibly useful. Ever had the problem of a screen that has too many visual objects and cannot fit into the 64K MSDOS memory straightjacket? This break constructor utility splits the GDI into 64K chunks, enabling much less restriction on screen design. I am not sure why Informix are not shouting about this feature. Are there any drawbacks? An example of what you could do would be displaying parts of a single large supertable rather than having to handle say three seperate windows. The elimination of programing overheads would be enourmous. Ian Kirkup.
