Re: Whenever error scope
Posted in 1993
I'm sorry.... I guess I haven't explained this problem very well. We do have a whenever error continue statement at the beginning of this module. At several points in the module we make function calls to external modules (eg. let p_balance_due = Balance_Due (invoice_number) ). After returning from these function calls, the whenever error is reset set to whenever error stop. Also any modules which are comprised of functions which are are not executed sequentially, but just called from other places, I believe would need the whenever error statement at the beginning of each function. But the reality is apparently worse than at the beginning of each module or function (depending on the usage), using whenever after each function call seems to be the only way to guarantee proper behavior.... eg. whenever error continue (miscellaneous code) let p_balance_due = Balance_Due (invoice_number) whenever error continue (more code) Thank you all for your time. I appreciate all your suggestions.
