I have been experiencing a strange problem with backup and restores using ontape and onbar on my HP box. I have a small test database of 300Mb on a HPUX 10.20 box running 7.23 of Informix. I can backup the database in 5 mins but it takes 23 min to complete physical recovery and 2 min to complete logical recovery. This indicate a 1 to 5 ratio for backups and restores. I was curious if anyone else had this performance ratio or even what ratio's their backups and restores take. TIA Silvester Valiente Informix DBA
