What does Informix offer here? I am not familiar with OCI. However, all of Informix's development tools are network enabled always and the server can be local or remote. You can use ESQL/C which is the equivalent of Oracle's ProC or DCI() which implements the Sybase/SQLServer/ODBC library calls. Art S. Kagel
