Starting with versions 4.13 and 6.00, these scripts acknowledge the environment variables INFORMIXC and CC. INFORMIXC is acknowledged by the ESQL/C script esql in version 6.00 and later versions, but not by version 5.03 and previous versions. The compiler is determined using: ${INFORMIXC:-${CC:-cc}} which means if INFORMIXC is set, it is used, else if CC is set, it is used, else cc is used. Since you ask about version 4.11, the answer is that there is no built in way of changing the compiler. You could, however, edit the various scripts to use the notation above when the compilation occurs. For example, change the line in cfglgo which reads: $ECHO cc -I$INFDIR/incl $A $LIBFMAIN $LIBES to: $ECHO ${INFORMIXC:-${CC:-cc}} -I$INFDIR/incl $A $LIBFMAIN $LIBES Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
