[RUCHI: Generating forms using INFORMIX ACE REPORT]

We send reports from both SQL and 4GL to our laser printers all of the time by inserting the printers programming lang directly into the ACE report. By doing this we can print at 80 and 132 print width. We just include the following line for our Kyocera laser printers at the start of the format section as the first line of the page header, ie: FORMAT PAGE HEADER PRINT "!R! RES; UNIT C; SBM 28; SPW 21.5; SPO L; FONT 28; EXIT;" We change the print size, font and so on the same way by putting a laser printer command line into the ACE format where the effect is to take place, such as bold or super small print. We close the report and reset the printer back to 80 column using the format ON LAST ROW PRINT "!R!
