To: Informix sales and marketing Fr: Stefan Zauchenberger Re: Wingz Real-Time development partner In December of 1993, Informix signed a contract with a UK-based company, Investment Intelligence Systems Corp. (IISC) for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the real-time aspects of our products. The immediate impact of this agreement is to strengthen our ability to support the existing copies of Wingz Real-Time we have in the market, and to allow us to market and sell Wingz Real-Time more aggressively, since we now have a development team that is focused on the Real-Time extensions. The longer term impact of this contract will hopefully result in new Informix products for the real-time marketplace, based off of our current products. IISC and Informix will jointly explore these new product options and, if approved, IISC will do the development of the real-time aspects. In addition to being a development partner, this agreement has authorized IISC to distribute Wingz Real-Time, and to license other distributors for the same purpose. All of Informix's full rights to the source and distribution of Wingz Real-Time have been retained as well. In fact, Wingz Real-Time will continue to be manufactured by Informix. The only visible change to customers will be references in the packaging to IISC for establishing a support agreement. This agreement does not impose any restrictions on Informix's selling rights, nor does it have any impact on sales commissions for Wingz Real-Time. Everything in that regard remains as it has been. We have just strengthened our ability to distribute and support the current Real-Time product, and put ourselves on a path that is likely to expand our presence in the real-time data capture market. ============================
