I would love to do this but I do not own the code and have to get the stuff done by the vendor. What I am trying to do is to solve a problem that is causing us both fits. The application is a combination C and Informix-4GL code. Everything was working fine on the SCO box but it crashed and we had to move to the SUN with only 4 hours lead time. I am now trying to "correct" any outstanding tasks. This is the only one that is left and the error appears when it attempts to create the letters with a 4GL module (the process merges some "template" files with data from the Informix database and outputs a merged letter). It seems to be working until the output phase. It does output a letter for each id in the data but the only thing it puts in the finished letter is an end of file. I check an error log that the process creates and it has the "16256" error shown above. Based on the syntax of Informix error messages, I think it is coming from the 4GL module. I have checked all the error message manuals I have, and the FAQ's everywhere I can think of but have not found the "16256" error anywhere. Since I don't have a service contract yet, I don't want to/have permission to call Informix and spend the $ so I am hoping I can get the information somewhere else. Hope this helps remove some of the confusion. Thanks, Don
