I haven't tried connecting from my other machine to this one, but I suspect that I won't get connected from it in any event if this box can't connect to itself. Just for drill, everything else that is network related works as it should; e.g., I can ssh to "myself," start any service (except Informix), ftp to locally, all that sort of thing (none of which makes any sense, of course).
