Help: My tempdbs is DISABLED!
Posted in 1999

The boot disk of my Sun Sparc crashed the other day and gone with it is
the TEMPDBS which resides on this this disk - other dbspaces are on the
2nd disk... wheewww
After replacing the crashed disk and restoring data from backup,
INFORMIX server seems to be online and applications working normal. But
during booting, there's a message about tempdbs being invalid. oncheck -
pe shows that tempdbs is disabled. This is quite worrying...
Does anybody know what I can do bring the tempdbs back?
Thanks & best rgds,

Temp dbspaces do not go to the archive. So, the restoration can't help
you in your problem. What you have to do :
1. Remove dbspaces from the DBSPACETEMP param in the ONCONFIG.
2. Check the reserved pages - is this chunk still present. If yes -
delete him with onspaces and DO LEVEL 0 ARCHIVE TO UPDATE RESERVED
PAGES. If not - so, everything OK.
3. Now you can create new temp dbspace.
