Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi everybody.
Platform:
- HP Workstation
- Informix Online 5.02
I have a trigger which executes a stored procedure when a field in
a table has been updated. The stored procedure has a SYSTEM call.
When I try to update the field, I get "System command cannot be
executed". "Not Owner". I'm probably missing something very simple.
ex.
CREATE TRIGGER test_trigUPDATE OF status ON assignment
AFTER (EXECUTE PROCEDURE test_proc());
CREATE PROCEDURE test_proc()
SET DEBUG FILE TO "/tmp/test"; TRACE ON;
TRACE "Calling SYSTEM";
SYSTEM "echo 'test'";
END PROCEDURE;
The above works if anything other than the SYSTEM command is used.
Are there trigger privileges or stored procedure privileges I need to
set to get this to work with SYSTEM. The debug file has error -668,
which is "System command cannot be executed."
Thanks in advance.
