Yes it will. Although LTAPEDEV is used primarily by OnTape, it does have
an indirect effect on OnBar. If LTAPEDEV is set to /dev/null, your logs
will be thrown away, regardless of which utility you intended to back
them up with.
This parameter is used by IDS to mark each log as backed up if it is set
to /dev/null.

When using onbar and setting LTAPEDEV to /dev/null you are restricted to
"whole system backup/restore" - this is the only way of not using logical
logs in restorable manner. Now you have been warned twice ;-) Ralph.
