Help - Informix RDS 4GL 7.20

I recently converted from Online 5 to IDS 7.30UD3 and recompiled my 4GL (RDS 4.17) to 7.20. I noticed programs which where using Global variables either core dump when starting up or I get gabbage in some variables as when they execute. It seems changing global variables to module variables seems to fix it. What I don't know is whether this works in all cases.
