Well, you can load binary data into the database
in 4GL programs. To do this you could use the
following code (I didn't test it):
DEFINE myBLOB BYTE
LOCATE myBLOB IN FILE "mypicture.bmp"
INSERT INTO ablobtable(ablobcol) VALUES(myBLOB)
-- Well, it should work.
-- As I know the same works with UPDATEs
