Access97 Compression??????????????

Could someone please give me some information about a way to compress a huge Access database so that it would still be able to be accessed by visual basic 5.0. I am with a growing software company and we are very close to our newest release of our program. Our problem is that we must fit the whole program on a single CD. We need a way to compress our database so that the user will be able to still run our program from the rom .We also would not like to lose too much speed.
