In $ONCONFIG set TAPEDEV=/dev/null
Do
ontape -s -N <db name>
which should take only a few seconds.
i.e. knock off transaction logging first.
In fact since you probably want to do a level 0 archive
before the reorg hence you can knock off transaction logging
AND take a level 0 archive at the same time.
Just remember to enable transaction logging again afterwards..
