We have SE 7.1 at one site, upgraded from 5.x (don't remember the exact version) and we found we had to work a good deal on update statistics (medium and high) for several columns to make the optimiser chose correctly. We did also get rid of an optimiser problem we had in 5.x that lead to long responstimes. The database was about the same size as yours. When you have found the correct update statistics commands to run you should be able to run them on all sites if they have the same databases. Other than this we had no problems. The 4GL programs where a straight recompile with no changes at all.
