It continually monitors critical RDBMS parameters, including status, events, capacity, and usage. This agent iden-tifies problems before service is interrupted, and can take automated, corrective action when triggered events occur. Informix Agent View- Tables" There was a company Platinum Technologies which sold a db monitoring tool, which was really good. They then joined with another company (CA - Computer Associates). I don't know if the original tool still exists. I found this one on their website (www.ca.com) I heard about the original tool from someone in Sweden who was monitoring about 40 servers from one central point. The demo was quite impressive......... if I can just remember the name, and unfortunately it wasn't free.
