I feel that this is an area where OnLine compares unfavourably with other DBMSs. In Adabas, for example, only non-empty pages will be written to an archive. Therefore, it makes no difference whether a table has 100 pages or 1,000,000 - the archive size is dependent upon the amount used. This seems much more sensible - what's the point of archiving empty pages? Thanks Neil Truby Chase Manhattan Bournemouth, UK
