[snipped tons of good reasoning that sum up to: Informix, keep your developers satisfied, and they'll build a new market for you] I'll reiterate my point. This and other "Informix on Linux" threads have had loads of good input (the best from Nils), but from few posters, and none from Informix. So, dear cdi reader, if you have _any_ interest on a Linux port of OL/SE/4gl/ESQL-C/ISQL/whatever, and/or affordable licences for developers/small sites, please say it clearly and say it to Informix. And, of course, it would really be great if some charitable soul at Informix gave me at last a clear idea (and not just a bunch of excuses) of Informix plans on the subject. >With only a reasonable success Informix can win a lot on this. > >Unless I am too far off here, I can't realy see how Informix can not >port to Linux. > > >Nils.Myklebust@idg.no >NM Data AS, P.O.Box 9090 Gronland, N-0133 Oslo, Norway >My opinions are those of my company >The Informix FAQ is at http://www.iiug.org ____________________________________________________________________________ Marco Greco <marcog@ctonline.it> rem radioterapia 39 95 447828 fax 446558 Informix-FAQ http://www.iiug.org 4glWorks http://www.ctonline.it/~marcog
