Thanks William, If I were you I'd concentrate on changing something but I digress. Comments to follow... Thanks Bill, since vi is available on ALL UNIX platforms, I think this should be the ONLY format for text editing. Great logic. I love it. Informix continues to do incompetent things, some which waste my time more than others. These time-wasting events cost ME money. By the way, since you're such an authority, did you know that the cpio on Linux is different than the cpio on AIX? I have found no difference in tar on Linux from the tar on my NT box or Windows 98 or UNIX platforms. In fact I depend on tar precisely because of this. Tar is available on all Linux and UNIX and even NT. Is cpio available for NT? No, you are forced to use Setup.exe. In fact tar is more available for NT, because in WinZip it automagically deciphers a tar file simply by pointing and clicking on it. So, please, don't go off on your own rant with me with broken logic it won't fly. :-) Thanks, Tim -- . .- .-- .--- .---- Tim Schaefer .----- tschaefe@bellsouth.net .---- http://www.inxutil.com .--- http://www.datad.com .-- .- .
