Now that you realize that not everything is rosy in Informix world, you can start to understand the problem. In understanding the problem, you can now start to think of how to fix the problem. But then again, its not a simple task and there is no simple single silver bullet solution. InDeep wants to seed the developers. But he doesn't make clear who the "developers" are. Mark Townsend brings home the obvious point that to "seed" the "developer" market, it would take a "billion dollars" and the results will not be worth the cost. But that's not to say that IBM couldn't achieve results for a far lesser number if they thought about the problem. Unfortunately, the way things are set up under IBM, no one is there to think about the problem. Their focus is on qtr to qtr growth and everything else is noise. BTW, you can always ignore my posts... but where's the fun in that? Some people just love watching a train wreck.
