Re: SUM in Informix 7.20 vs. Informix 6.0

May be you included value added tax in your first calculation ;-) But 30% vat is a *little* on the high side. Seriously this is more than critical if it's an Informix defect. This kind of bug seems too incredible to believe. What are the exact type and version numbers of your engine and 4GL? Have you tried to write a small 4GL program that does nothing but these calculations? Have you reported this to Informix? We are extremely interested in hearing the results. Please post again when you have talked to Informix. We have just taken delivery of the same engine on the same OS and hardware to a major customer. We are aware that version 7.20 have several bugs, but that whas what they delivered when we ordered the Wrokgroup Server. We also got 7.22 of Dynamic Server. Due to hollidays at Informix here in Norway we haven't been able to complain about this yet. It's somewhat crazy to deliver version 7.20 now. Yes, we are running Intel Pentium :Pro 200, but an error of 30% is a little bit too high, right? An error of *anything* is too high.
