You need to do:
isql <databasename> <filename>
or
dbaccess <databasename> <filename>
where your sql file is <filename>.sql. Alternatively you can say:
cat <filename> | isql <databasename>
cat <filename> | dbaccess <databasename>
and your filename could be anything.

Subject: Working with SQL on Informix 5.02
I'm trying to extract data from an Informix 5.02 database using sql scripts
and I don't know how to execute the scripts.
I found the SQL engine which is named SQLEXEC and attempted to execute the
SQL scripts I generated by typing:
sqlexec <filename>
But the program seems to lock up and never returns.
If anyone has any information on this older version of informix, I would
greatly appreciate it
