How to - Make the jukebox go to the next tape.

Hi Folks Environment is SOLARIS 2.4 SPARC 1000E Informix 7.14 Writing ontape to a 5gig jukebox tape drive. I realise that there are products available on Solaris to handle the automatic cycling to the next tape. We even have such a product installed, but I am full of despair at the prospect that my unix folks will ever set it up for me :^( , so I anticipate doing my own thing with a shell script . hence my question: Could anyone please tell me what the characters are that I need to send to a Sun tape drive to tell it to step to the next tape?
