The Log SHOULD be set to 'U' meaning unbuffered log!
You can, however, try 'ondblog unbuf <db_name>', followed by a fake
backup 'onbar -b -F', which will allow the system to record the changes
and activate the log in your database

Use 'CREATE DATABASE <db_name> IN <dbspace_name> WITH LOG'
Hope this helps.
Paulo.

Author : T.Jalaludeen E-mail : jala@hpsgm99.sgp.hp.com Hai, I created a database in INFOMRIX 7.23 - HP UX. I created tables also. But later I found thatthe transaction logging has not been turned ON for this database, so droped the database and created using "CREATE DATABASE <db_name> WITH LOG" The database created properly, but when I checked the log status it is still set to "N" , so in this case how do I turn the transaction logging. I tried on-tape but it needs dba permission. And another question is how do I put my database in a seperate dbspace other than rootdbs. T.Jalal
