What he essentially asks about is how to implement an MS Access hyperlink field type in an Informix database using MS Access as the front end. The database used to be an MS Access database that he is now moving to Informix. The hyperlink fields have been changed to type text in the Informix database. I don't know how this hyperlink field is actually implemented in MS Access. However fields of type text in Informix whould clearly not be particularly usefull. Type text is a blob type (binary large object) where only text data can be stored. I assume the hyperlink fields actually contains an URL. You might be able to store that URL in a char or varchar field in Informix and somehow show that in your forms as a hyperlink that can be clicked on. How I don't know. In Visual Basic it wouldn't be very difficult. It should also be doable in MS Access, but may require some programming.
