DataSpace Filesize limit???

Hello, We are implementing an Informix V7.22.UC1 on a Sun Ultra 3000 running Solaris 2.5.1. As we attempted to create dataspaces yesterday using cooked files, we could not create a file larger than 1GB. We had thought (and everything we can find) says that the file size limit under Solaris is 2GB. Any idea why we cannot create a file that is 2GB?
