Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Sh To asked, before upgrading IDS 12 to 14, whether UDR recompiles and oncheck integrity checks must also be run on HDR/RSS servers. Doug Lawry said file-system items such as C or Java UDRs must be copied to secondaries, while in-instance changes happen only on the primary. Paul Watson said custom TimeSeries UDRs should be recompiled, regex-based ones need not. The oncheck question was not answered.

Hello
As i can see
here
, there are a bunch of things to do or check before upgrade (IDS12 > 14).
But do I have to do all this on all the servers ?
For example, UDRs
Do i have to recompile them also on the HDR and RSS ?
(Also, if you have a link to UDR compile/recompile process, I'll be pleased)
Also, verifying integrity of data pages

To answer your specific question, anything in file systems, such as recompiling C or Java UDRs, will need to be copied to HDR/RSS servers. Anything in the IDS instance can only be done on the primary, and may require rebuilding HDR/RSS instances from level 0 archives if not achieved via SQL, for example "oncheck". Others will correct me if I'm wrong!

It depends on the UDR, for instance any custom TS UDRs should be recompiled as TS is normally tightly coupled to the engine. But if you are using the regex, either IBM or Oninit version, functions within your UDR then there is no need to recompile

Hello,,
And what about the those checks ?
oncheck -***

Is it necessary to execute them on the HDR/RSS or primary is enough ?
Thanks
